Now more than ever I believe the Sámi (Sápmi) and Inuit (Greenland) have a stake (legal standing)—and moral authority to control the super powers named in the video—with their permanent positions on the Arctic Council Indigenous Peoples’ Secretariat.

The obstructions to Arctic Repair seem to be insurmountable for us without the lead of indigenous peoples, IMHO.  Fortunately, the climate research now underway by the Sámi Climate Council, UiT, UArctic and others has the opportunity to be leveraged by the Sámi Parliament and Sámi Council at the Arctic Council to control, mitigate and derail China’s plans.
