I’m sure you’re all thrilled that there’s now a non stop flight from NY to Greenland with the flight number of 80 to represent the % of the country’s surface area covered by the GIS. 

I guess it would be poor form to remark that United’s flight is doing more than its share to reduce that 80% as well as overall mass and thickness of the sheet. 

Of course once my country invades or otherwise takes control of Greenland that 80 % should decline even more rapidly. 

Perhaps we can establish a betting pool on when the flight will need to be renumbered as 79 or lower. (recognizing that the overall extent of the GIS has not changed and will not change very much for some time compared to the mass and thickness of the GIS.)
