Our friends and partners at MEER had Mike Tidwell as their guest yesterday at one of their regular MEER talks. See link below.
Mike is the founder and leader of the most influential climate activist group in the metropolitan Washington area – the Chesapeake climate action network.
He has important contacts with activist leaders and groups throughout the country as well as long-standing ties with the federal bureaucracy and Congress.
It is for that reason that his recent conversion to recognizing the need for at least SRM research is significant.
Mike Maccracken and I recently met with him and have established relationships with his two staff members who work on SRM on Capitol Hill and elsewhere.
One of his staff members will participate on a panel in support of SRM research organized by Ron Baiman in Brooklyn on Friday night September 26.
Mike has indicated that he has not to his surprise gotten much negative response to his support for SRM research as articulated in his new book and in his advocacy efforts with climate activists throughout the region and country.
Mike will be speak at the panel at the New York climate week organized by the Healthy Climate Initiative that I posted recently and is organizing his own event at NY climate week on SRM research in partnership with Shuchi Talati and her organization DSG.
