Many of you may be interested in this discussion with three key leaders of a bold and audacious climate intervention - the possibility of erecting a sea bed curtain to slow the loss of ice at the Doomsday Thwaites Glacier.
Marianne Hagen, Professor John Moore and Professor David Holland spoke with the Climate Emergency forum last week.
David actually spoke from the deck of the icebreaker research vessel off the coast of Thwaites that is carrying 40 scientists from all over the world on their two months or so expedition.
It may well be that such a curtain would not be needed or feasible either because Thwaites will not be melting at a pace likely to inundate the planet or perhaps because any such curtain would be too little too late. The data collected on this expedition will help scientists get answers to these planetary scale critical questions
This expedition has attracted much media interest with The New York Times having a reporter on board along with a freelance reporter and photographer providing stories to PBS and CNN among other outlets.
