The Centre for Climate Repair will be hosting a Workshop on Albedo Enhancement and Refreezing the Arctic on June 6 May, 2023 from 9am-4pm (UK time). 

 

We are aware it is very short notice but would love for you to join us either online or in person. If you would like to give talk on one of the topics covered (please see below), please feel free to email us.

Proposed timings: 

Meet 9am for coffee 

Start 9.30am 

Break: 10.30-11 

Sessions: 11-12.30

End 4pm

This event will be on Tuesday June 6.  I suggested it to PRAG colleagues and to Hugh Hunt and Shaun FitzGerald at the Centre for Climate Repair as I will be visiting the UK then from Australia.  I plan to lead a discussion on ethics and governance and look forward to meeting British colleagues in person.

Hi Robert,

The next PRAG meeting will be on the 22nd May.  Can you host it?

The following meeting would be on Monday 5th of June, but I will be travelling to Cambridge that day, and there's your event on 6th.  So I suggest we cancel that meeting.

I'm not sure about Monday the 19th June.  We can fix the date nearer the time.

As for a presentation, I would like to fill a slot please, but haven't yet decided what subject to cover.  It depends a bit on what other people are going to talk about and how long I've got.

Hi Robert and Hugh,

For my contribution, I would like to present the case for urgent SRM research towards rapid but safe deployment, especially for refreezing the Arctic, as we've been developing in PRAG.  It is an excellent opportunity to present our PRAG findings to a knowledgeable audience.  If the presentation kicked off the workshop, this would "set the scene" for the various SRM techniques you've listed.

BTW, Robert, will you be able to zoom host the PRAG meeting scheduled for next Monday at 9pm UK time?
