Hi Joe,

First, congratulations on your new position and best of success! Maybe we see each other in Bremen at some point next year :-) CC-ing the Planetary-dev list, so that the KWARC folks are in the loop.

FidusWriter is a curious startup. I don't like it as much as WriteLaTeX. Here is a brief explanation why.

For the LaTeXML-inclined, I did some digging and it turns out they are not doing any real LaTeX conversion, instead they are using MathJaX with its SVG-output setting when displaying HTML or exporting HTML/EPUB. And they rely entirely on MathJaX to do the formula conversion.

In short, this is not really Lyx-equivalent, as they have their own JavaScript typesetting code which has various exports to other formats.

P.S. Epub exports are starting to get popular, that's motivating -- I'm halfway through building a native EPUB export for LaTeXML.
