NNexus is called as a sub-process of LaTeXML, and LaTeXML is only
triggered when the rich text editor is used.
See for instance:
http://planetmath.org/node/87474 -- there are no
autolinks in the text on this page.
First major problem: Some power users may want to use the "plain
text" mode, either because they like the retro feel (ahem, perl monks)
or because they're committed Emacs users (ahem ahem) who want to enter
LaTeX via the It's All Text (IAT) plugin for Firefox [1]. Currently,
the "TeX Editor" does not play well with IAT. You can trigger IAT
from the TeX Editor field via the IAT hot key -- but the IAT edit
button doesn't show up. Also, the text that's returned from IAT seems
rather garbled -- it doesn't actually let you edit the current
contents of the buffer, but only one line at a time.
Second major problem: We presumably want NNexus to work even on plain
text entries.
Third (minor, but aesthetically important) problem: Switching back and
forth from rich text to plain text leaves a "hanging" copy of the
editor toolbar.
Any ideas about how to solve the points above would be welcome!
