Each year, more deaths occur due to flooding than from any other thunderstorm related hazard. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report that over half of all flood-related drownings occur when a vehicle is driven into hazardous flood water. The next highest percentage of flood-related deaths is due to walking into or near flood waters. People underestimate the force and power of water. Many of the deaths occur in cars swept downstream. Many of these drownings are preventable. Never drive around the barriers blocking a flooded road. The road may have collapsed under that water. A mere 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock over an adult. It takes just 12 inches of rushing water to carry away most cars and just 2 feet of rushing water can carry away SUVs and trucks. It is NEVER safe to drive or walk into flood waters.

NWS partners in the weather enterprise may use the phrase "Turn Around Don't Drown" in broadcasts to encourage flood safety without special permission or license agreement from NOAA. For example, a broadcaster stating a flash flood warning is in effect may remind viewers to "turn around don't drown" at flooded low water crossings. This limited permission is given on condition the use is lawful and professional manner and is subject to review by NOAA/NWS. Any person or entity as described above using the phrase "Turn Around Don't Drown" agrees with these conditions and agrees to immediately stop using the phrase should NOAA/NWS, in its sole discretion, determine for any reason that the use of the phrase is not in the best interests of the NWS flood safety program. If any NWS staff member believes the Turn Around Don't Drown phrase is being improperly used, he or she should notify the NWS Communications Office.

I'm looking for some information to make my KinematicBody2D move like in cinematic platformers. When you press the movement key that turns around instead of flipping the run animation I want it to do a turn (I already have the sprite animation for this) and only run when the movement key is held down. Currently the tutorials I have found on YouTube are very limited in achieving this unless I missed something.

Basically if we could, it would usually take us around 12-24 hours total to do a wedding, but we never do it all in one sitting because we like to take our time and make sure everything looks perfect.

downtime is based on your shipping choices... AFAIK 2wdw turn around is dame day 98% of the time... seems like the local post office drops off the ECU first as 1st stop then swings by near the end of the day..

We flash all ECUs the same day we receive them at the shop! We always use USPS Priority Mail, as they are the fastest, most reliable and cost effective option. All return shipping within the US (even Hawaii and Alaska) is free of charge when we first flash your ECU. All free reflashing is only $10 to cover shipping expenses for any future modifications you may do to the bike that would require reflashing.

When shipping across the northern border, we are completely at the mercy of Canadian Customs. Return shipping to Canada is $45 via USPS Express Mail. You will also be subject to any associated customs fees. Usually ECUs are returned within a week once we flash them and shipped back to Canada.

We have shipped ECUs as far as Brunei (Google it, we definitely had to!) without any issues. For any more specific questions about turn around time and shipping, please call us at (425)269-5332 or email us at 2wheeld...@gmail.com.

I've read that Notices AMS provides annual (at least) stats on backlogs, turn-around times and so on (when is this, by the way - is it the same month each year? And where is it? The faultless google has let me down ;_;) But what are some of the quickest journals? That being said, one has to balance speed with length of allowed papers (having a page limit of 15 sure would help speed up refereeing times, or am I optimistic?), general reputation and level of specialisation.

Alternatively, what about (unreasonably?) slow turnaround? I'm not asking for anecdotes, but documented evidence (Edit: perhaps documented evidence is too strong. I just don't want 'My paper took 3 years because it sat in someone's spam filter and then got lost and then the referee forgot about it'. If you have anecdotal evidence, then it should be either 'common knowledge' or at least corroborated by people you know). If this slow journal is because it accepts top-level research papers that are over 100 pages in length, then please say so.

Mathematical Research Letters generally asks referee reports to be returned within a month I think. It is also ``dedicated to rapid publication of short complete papers of original research in all areas of mathematics.'' It does ask that papers be less than 20 pages though...

Yep, It is a thing. Fire turnarounds and access are a big part of development planning. The fire truck parking to house is usually kept below 150 ft. You could make the grass area drivable with grasspave or something that would support a fire truck and make a signed fire lane thru the center.. Check here at the bottom of the page for info -review checking. This will give you an idea of what is typical.
The rules are from the fire code that is adopted from nation wide text.

Development permits usually have a host of other agencies that must sign off on any proposals. They typically include Highways, and the Fire Department having jurisdiction over the area. What is deemed acceptable access and provision for firefighting is based on national standards, but ultimately up to the Fire Chief. Here that includes access and a turn-ar0und within 75 yards of the building, and in the absence of a municipal water supply, a tank of a certain volume.

The Bus Turnaround coalition released a new, interactive online district-level bus report card tool that allows bus riders and elected officials to see, at a glance, the quality of bus service in their districts.

The Bus Turnaround coalition held a rally at City Hall to call on the MTA and DOT to undertake sweeping changes to fix bus service, where ridership has been in free-fall for a number of years. At the rally, the coalition released new route-level report cards with speed and reliability data for local buses.

What expectations do you have at your company/firm to turn expense refunds? Currently we pay employees back through payroll so we give a deadline of 5 days before payroll to get expense reports in. However we are discussing going to a weekly ACH run for reimbursements. I'm trying to determine what is a reasonable cut off time to get the expense into the ACH run. I know that company size, size of expense reports, etc make a difference. However I'm curious what other people do and feel is reasonable... if you get it in by _____ then we will reimburse you on Friday. FYI, we are a mid-size company with 300 people so we could get as many as 100 reports in a single week (we average 200 reports per month currently) and they all funnel through one processor (though we could share the duties if needed).
