2026 Earthna Prize for Traditional Knowledge and Sustainability Solutions

"The Earthna Prize honors and promotes the important role of the knowledge passed down through generations in addressing the pressing environmental issues of our time. 

Earthna’s conviction is that traditional knowledge and cultural heritage are not merely objects of preservation but active resources for contemporary sustainability problems. 

Eligibility Criteria 

1. Applicants:

a) can be from any region of the world;

b) are organizations and teams that seek to curate, administer, perpetuate, and preserve systems of traditional knowledge. This encompasses a diverse range of organizations, including non-governmental organizations (NGOs), community-based organizations (CBOs), civil society organizations (CSOs), and private sector entities.

2. Initiatives/projects:

a) that preserve, integrate, and adopt traditional knowledge and cultural heritage to tackle contemporary sustainability challenges;

b) under a legally incorporated entity.

3. At least one dedicated team member must be available to communicate in English with the Earthna Prize team.

4. The application must be in English.

With a prize pool of US $1 million, four winners are able to use the award to support the development, continuation, and scaling of their work.
