True humility and fear of the Lord lead to riches, honor, and long life. Proverbs 22:4

The Word To Live By: Humility is not cowering in a corner with your eyes on the floor, acting meek and inefficient. True humility is being teachable and trusting God’s Word and the Holy Spirit (two things you can’t necessarily see but must believe) and not your own ability to do His will. It’s being willing to learn more than you think you know. It’s a modest opinion of your importance in any situation, and the acknowledgement of all things are possible with God.  The fear of the Lord is being reverent and worshipful in His presence (which is 100% of the time); not being afraid of God but depending on the unconditional love of God to be on your side and set you free from the lying, killing, stealing, and destroying philosophy of the devil.  The bottom line is this – respect, obedience and walking by faith and not by sight; believing the Word of God over the circumstances leads to riches, honor and long life. Here’s a thought I just had, “What good are riches and honor if you don’t have a long life?” “This is the day that the Lord has made! [Go ahead and] rejoice and be glad in it.”
