These things I have spoken to you, so that in me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world. John 16:33

The Word To Live By: I want to jump in here with some clarification on what I’m saying about living by faith. It seems that quite often when someone hears this teaching, they drive into one ditch or the other. One ditch is, from now on all I have to do is say something positive and positive will happen. They deny circumstances until their faith becomes shipwrecked. The other ditch is that this is some kind of fanatical heresy to get money and fortune, and they abandon these principles all together.  Living by faith is not a magic formula for avoiding the tests, trials, and tribulations that come along with living in a fallen world. Living by faith is a lifestyle that will take you over, under, around, or through the issues of life. In John 10:10, Jesus said to His disciples that there’s a thief that comes to steal, kill, and destroy the creation of God. “I came that they (you) may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows). Just last night, I told a man who is suffering with a cancer diagnosis and complications from it, “Two things I’m sure about God; He’s good and good means good, and He wants us to live in peace no matter what’s going on around us.” Living by faith will bring both of those into our life. When your daily speech agrees with what God said about you and not about what the thief is trying to convince you of, when your behavior lines up with unconditional love, and you change your thinking to whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and it anything worthy of praise, then the peace of God will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. I’m not saying that if you are crossing the highway of life and you see a car coming that you stand there and confess God’s protection and His angels guarding you and expect not to get hit by the car. You get off the road and wave, with a smile on your face as it goes by and then thank God for the wisdom to see the car coming and the strength to walk off the road. I am saying that when you don’t see that car coming, the person living by faith doesn’t worry about anything, but by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, they let their requests be known to God. And with the confidence of praying according to His will, you keep moving forward because you know He heard you and if you know He heard you, you have the petitions you prayed about. Which brings me to step three in living by faith: don’t worry about it; do something about it. TTYT 😊
