Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:10
The Word To Live By: Now we get into the prayer of thanksgiving, the prayer of supplication, (they go together remember) and the prayer of faith. Jesus told Nicodemus in John 3 that if he wanted to see the kingdom of God, he must be born again. There are many scriptures in the New Testament, especially in the Amplified Translation, that refer to the kingdom of God coming to the born-again believer. “Blessed and fortunate and happy and spiritually prosperous (in that state in which the born-again child of God enjoys His favor and salvation) …” Matthew 5:6. I particularly like Matthew 5:10, “Blessed and happy and enviably fortunate and spiritually prosperous (in the state in which the born-again child of God enjoys and finds satisfaction in God’s favor and salvation, regardless of his outward conditions) …” And then there is 1 Peter 1:23, “You have been regenerated (born again), not from a mortal origin (seed, sperm), but from one that is immortal by the ever living and lasting Word of God.” If you are born again, the kingdom of God is yours to live in. Then there’s the will of God being done on earth as it is in heaven. The will of God is the Word of God. (Period! End of conversation.) The New Testament, the precious and magnificent promises for life and godliness, is the will of God for every born-again believer. So, what does that mean? We don’t pray for His will to be done in our lives on earth as it is in heaven. We thank Him that it is being done in our lives on earth as it is in heaven. It sounds like this (after we acknowledge the holiness and power of His Name), “I thank you, Lord, that your will is being done in my life today on earth as it is in heaven.” If there is something specific not going on in my life according to His will, I mention the promise. “Lord Jesus, you said you haven’t given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. Thank you that Your will is being done in my life in that area.” It’s a prayer of thanksgiving, supplication, and faith. You have invoked the name above the name, fear. You’ve asked for power, love, and a sound mind. You’ve spoken to the mountain of fear and you’ve thanked Him for it being gone in your life. Did you see it go into the sea? Probably not, but take courage and keep thanking Him, it will crumble.
