The Lord directs our steps, so why try to understand everything along the way? Proverbs 20:24

The Word To Live By: You don’t have to know the reason to take a step of faith. Do what the Word tells you to do and let it guide your life. Trust in the Lord with all your strengths (all your strengths are your spirit, soul, and body) and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and he will direct your paths. Psalm 37 has a lot of good doctrines to apply to our lives but verses 23 and 24 are solid hooks you can hang your faith on. “The steps of a righteous man are established by the Lord, and He delights in his way. When he falls, he will not be hurled headlong, because the Lord is the One who holds his hand.”  I’m not afraid of making the wrong decision as long as I’m doing it with faith in God. I know if it’s the wrong decision, he will catch me and put me back on the right path. You can have excuses or you can have progress, but you can’t handle both. Learn to look at roadblocks from a different angle. One of my favorite quotes is by Thomas Edison who was asked why he kept going with the light bulb after 99 failures. He said, “I didn’t have 99 failures; I had 99 lessons in what not to do.” As long as you are trusting God, don’t worry about “failures,” learn and keep fighting the good fight of faith. I can tell you from experience that there is nothing you can’t recover from if you just trust God and follow His Word.
