O Lord, who may abide in Your tent? Who may dwell on Your holy hill? He who walks with integrity, and works righteousness, and speaks truth in his heart. He does not slander with his tongue, nor does evil to his neighbor, nor takes up a reproach against his friend; In whose eyes a reprobate is despised, but who honors those who fear the Lord; he swears to his own hurt and does not change; he does not put out his money at interest, nor does he take a bribe against the innocent. he who does these things will never be shaken. Psalm 15
The Word to live by: I’ve learned that my lifestyle affects my attitude, which affects my degree of worry. And I will tell you this - it’s easier to write down on a piece of paper what to do to prevent being shaken than to actually live it. But it’s doable. And thank God His mercies are new every morning and His lovingkindness (grace) follows us all the days of our lives. But that doesn’t excuse us from trying. I had a conversation with a man the other day who is, in a sense, becoming a mentor to me. He’s maybe one of the best people managers I have met recently. (The best I have ever known was my father. You could plug my dad into any company as a department manager, and he would turn a profit and have the support of all his employees.) When I say people manager I don’t mean manipulator; I mean someone who gets the best out of the people under him. But this man said something to me the other day that I took to heart. Be firm but fair with everyone under you and above you. Don’t ever compromise your integrity. And second, make your vision clear and let them do it. Inspect what they are doing and offer positive feedback. Psalm 15 is God’s vision for your life and the positive feedback.
