For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith as it is written, “But my righteous man shall live by faith.”
Romans 1:16-17
The Word To Live By: Another interruption for a special report from our sponsor, the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. “For we walk by faith [we regulate our lives and conduct ourselves by our conviction or belief respecting man’s relationship to God and divine things, with trust and holy fervor; thus we walk] not by sight or appearance,” 2 Corinthians 5:7 Amplified Translation. We live by faith and not by feelings, and certainly not fear or frustration or disappointment, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God Matthew 4:4 (Phil Waggoner Translation). Our God supplies all of our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). All our needs includes spirit, soul, and body (not just physical). We know that God causes all things to work together for good and for His purpose in our lives (Romans 8:28). We therefore count it all joy when things don’t appear to be going our way because the testing of our faith produces endurance. We let endurance have its perfect result, so that we may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing (James 1:2-4). Living by faith is not for sissies but for the strong of spirit and soul. Strengthen your spirit and soul by listening to and meditating on the Word of God (Joshua 1:8, Romans 10:17). I’m excited to hear and see the good that is coming your way.
