God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He spoken, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? Numbers 23:19

The Word To Live By: I wrote yesterday about being without a copy of the Bible and running the scriptures I knew by heart, through my mind, and lining them up with the main doctrines of the Bible. The first doctrine I spoke of was, God is good and good means good. For the longest time I attributed everything in my life to God. Good and bad, I thought God caused it all. When it was bad it was to teach me something, or correct me, or in some cases punish me, but always because He thought I needed pain and suffering in my life. None of those lines up with the Bible. To begin with, God's love for mankind is unconditional. He hates sin, not people. Jesus died to take the place of our punishment for our sin. Does that mean we have a license to sin? No! You don’t need a license to sin, it’s automatic if you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and haven’t renewed your mind to the Word of God. He took our sin in His body on the cross that we might die unto sin and live unto righteousness. Jesus said He came that we might have life and have it more abundantly. He said it’s the devil that steals, kills, and destroys us and everything around us. Do you reap what you sow? Yes, it’s a spiritual law put into the earth for us to be able to enjoy life not to be burdened by it. So, sow good and expect to reap good. The expected part is the faith part. Do tests, trials, and tribulation show up in our lives for no apparent reason? Yes. Because Jesus said that in the world there will be tribulation but to cheer up, He has overcome the world. The victory that overcomes the tests, trials, and tribulations that the world throws at you is your faith in the promises of God. The promises of God are good, and they contain everything pertaining to life and godliness that we need. Which He has made good. He even said in Romans 8:28 that He causes all things to work together for our good for them that love Him and understand they are called for a purpose. Don’t ever get that mixed up with God caused bad to bring good. The devil causes bad, God turns what he intended to kill, steal, and destroy to turn to good. God is good and good means good. If it’s not good, it’s not God.
