Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us - for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree” in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we would receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Galatians 3:13,14
The Word To Live By: There’s no such thing as making the biggest mistake of your life and not being able to recover from it. There’s no such thing as ruining your life. Life, as it turns out, is pretty resilient. I’m not saying that you won’t reap what you sow but I will tell you those seeds can be dug up and replaced with the life of God in you. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “If anyone is in Christ, they are a new creature, the old things passed away, behold, new things have come.” That’s referring to your sinful nature in your old spirit. That spirit literally dies and no longer exists. I’m not talking about your soul - your mind, will and emotions (that needs to be transformed through faith in the Word of God). I’m talking about your spirit-man on the inside that is your control center. And by doing that, you can change the course of your life. There are some things that will fall off immediately and there will be some things that you will have to walk through, but you will be walking in the right direction. I think about Barabbas who was in jail at the same time as Jesus. He was a murderer and an insurrectionist scheduled to be crucified. He was released because Jesus literally took his place. (He literally took yours too.) I often wonder about him and what he did once he was released and found out Jesus was raised from the dead. Talk about dodging a bullet! My point is, his life was over until Jesus came into it. What are you going to do with Jesus? Are you going to accept His grace and mercy and grow in the good plan that He has for you? The promises of the Spirit of God come through faith in those promises, not through trying to maintain your position in the world through being conformed to it. In order to grow into and to dig up old seed, one of your life scriptures has to be Philippians 3:12-14 “Not that I have already obtained it or have already become perfect, but I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus. Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet, but one thing I do forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Today is the beginning of a new day; let it be something good by trusting the Word of God.
