The Word To Live By: Worry is a form of fear so therefore it is not from God. I don’t want anything in my life that is not from God. Worry is a weapon of the devil to make you do and say things that stop your faith from working on your behalf. “Well, I’m not worried I’m just concerned.” Then do something about it. One time my son-in-law was out of town on business and as an excuse to see my grandchildren (😊 grandparents come up with all kinds of excuses when it comes to visiting their grandkids.) I went to their house and was mowing the back yard. A pitbull dog who lived next door leaped over the fence, attacked me and bit me on the upper arm. Concerned that the dog might do the same to his children, (three toddlers) and the fact that the neighbors denied that their dog would do that, he built a 6’ privacy fence. Problem solved. Don’t worry but if you are concerned do something about it. “I don’t know what to do!” Read the three steps of how not to worry from yesterday. Now let’s go back to the instructions in Philippians 4 and let’s start with verse 4. “Rejoice in the Lord always; again, I will say, rejoice!”  How do you rejoice in the Lord? Think about and talk about the promises of God to yourself. “What am I supposed to think about?” Now go to verse 8. “Finally, brethren, whatever is true, (The Word of God is THE TRUTH) whatever is honorable, (God is good and good means good.) what ever is right, (THE TRUTH is always right) whatever is pure, (The pure truth of Word of God.)  whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, (I would say that 2 Peter 1 is a pretty good report) If there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, (How about what Jesus did for you on the cross? If you are not sure see Isaiah 53:1-6) dwell on these things. Occasionally, we all need to take a “Dwell on,” break. (To think or talk about something.) Have you noticed how not to worry includes Mark 11:23, “Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him,” and Romans 12:1-2? “Therefore, I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” Last word on this, “Be a doer of the Word and not a hearer only.”
