Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted to you. Mark 11:24

The Word To Live by: Here we go! The biggest sticking point in the prayer of faith, in fact every type of faith. Believe you have it then you will see it. Jesus’ dying words were, “It is finished.”  He didn’t mean His life. He meant God’s work of redemption, which includes every promise of God in the Bible to a righteous person (see 2 Corinthians 5:17-21). The only promises yet to be fulfilled are the promises that come after His second coming. Jesus is saying if you believe that, then the promise you are believing is yours. If you know me and I gave you a wallet and told you there was $1000 in it, you wouldn’t have to look in it to see if I was telling you the truth because you know me and know I don’t lie. Then one day you went into a clothing store and found $950 worth of clothes you wanted. You went ahead and picked them up and took them to the cash register and then opened the wallet and paid for them. (I am not saying write a faith check to for things you need. I’m saying write it with your mouth to yourself. (Declare it and believe you have it. Then when it manifests, spend it.)  My point is you knew you had the money to do what you needed to do before you saw it. The Bible is God’s wallet and contains everything you need to live an abundant life in all godliness. The promises come to you through the knowledge of those promises (2 Peter 1:3). The world says, “I’ll believe it when I see it.” God says, “Believe it then you will see it.” Jesus said to His disciple, Thomas, “Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are they who did not see and yet believed.”  I love John 20:31, “These things have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.”  My confession is, “I have everything I need to live an abundant life that is pertaining to life and godliness and God knows it.” But if you come to my house, you might look around and think, “You are delusional.” No, I just haven’t opened the wallet yet. And when I need it, I know it’s there.
