Live creatively, friends. If someone falls into sin, forgivingly restore him, saving your critical comments for yourself. You might be needing forgiveness before the day’s out. Stoop down and reach out to those who are oppressed. Share their burdens, and so complete Christ’s law. If you think you are too good for that, you are badly deceived. Galatians 6:2 The Message
The Word to live by: I like The Message Translation because it is straightforward and sometimes sounds like my brain. It’s so straight forward and plain. Live creatively, friends, it’s saying. Imagine situations beyond what the world says is the way to operate. See the positive. Before you judge someone else’s sin and start to talk about it, think about your own life. Do you want someone to say about you what you are about to say about them? Even though that’s what your affiliation is saying? We need to learn to understand where people are coming from and why, and then try to help them overcome their problems, not remind them of them. What is Christ’s law? Treat others the way you want to be treated, not necessarily the way you are treated. Here’s something to think about. What if Jesus had said, “Don’t forgive them, Father. This isn’t right or fair!” Instead of “Forgive them, Father, for they know not what they are doing!” Where would you and I be today? That’s motivation enough for me to forgive and move on.
