The Word To Live By: When I opened my computer this morning to go to Proverbs, this is the scripture that popped up. I don’t read the Amplified Bible to just read, only to clarify certain scriptures. (It’s too wordy to hold my concentration very long.) I’ve read this scripture countless times in the King James or New American Standard (which is what I spend the most time in), and it’s a great promise in those translations. “Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us…” (NAS) “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us…” (NKJ) But I’m not aware that I’ve ever read it in the Amplified. “Superabundantly”! I didn’t even know that was a word, so I looked it up on AI and found this, “Superabundantly means in an extreme way or to an excessive degree, indicating that something exists in very large amounts or is more than sufficient. It is often used to emphasize an overwhelming presence of a resource or quality. The term derives from the word ‘superabundant,’ which suggests an abundance that exceeds normal limits.” My first thought was John 10:10 and that Jesus said that He came to give us life more abundant. They both come from the same word. Life more abundant means to the full, until it overflows. I’m sorry but I just don’t see anything about sickness, poverty, addiction, or fear and worry anywhere in that scripture. But here is what jumped off the page to me and has me really excited, “above all that we [dare] ask or think…” Is God daring me to come up with something beyond my highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams? I think He is. Do you know what that scripture means? It means there are no limits to where God will take you, and nothing He won’t do for you if you are bold enough to ask.
