This is my comfort in my affliction; Your promise has given me life. Psalm 119:50
The Word To Live By: This verse says it all. When Jesus said, “I have come that you might have life and life more abundant.” He was saying I’ve come to show you that the will of God for your life comes from knowing the Word of God. Let’s look at some different translations of Psalm 119:50. The Message, “Remember what you said to me, your servant- I hang on to these words for dear life! These words hold me up in bad times; yes, your promises rejuvenate me.” New Living Translation, “Your promise revives me; it comforts me in all my troubles.” New American Standard, “This is my comfort in my misery, that Your word has revived me.” Do you get the picture? When you live by faith in the Word of God, it not only changes your circumstances but also your attitude and outlook on life. “His divine power has given us everything required for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness,” (2 Peter 1:4). His divine power is released in your life through faith in great and precious promises. Our job is to gain knowledge about them.
