Hi there
I was really pleased with your pice of software but now I just cant use it.
The problem is that I own a 2gen iPod Touch (I know it's pretty old but it work just perfect for what I do)
The app was working properly but after I reseted the ipod to its fabric state (for issues with an other app) I just cant install this new version and there is no option for me to get the old one that was perfect for my old device. I paid for the adds remover and I want my software back.
I wish I could replace the new .ipa file with the old one if you can send it to me.

I really use this app and I need the version just before 1.7.1 cause I emptied the trash so I don't have it any more.

Hi there - I'm sorry, Apple doesn't provide any way of downloading older versions, sorry. If you have another backup system going (Time Machine, CrashPlan, a mirrored drive) then an older copy may be in those locations. You want version 1.6.1 or earlier.

In order to submit *any* iOS 6/iPhone 5 updates, we had to stop supporting the armv6 architecture found on iPod touch 2nd gen/iPhone 3G and earlier. The current versions of Xcode simply won't compile for them as I discovered after a few days of continuously failing builds and verifications with the App Store because I still had that older architecture enabled.

Wait. Then why am I still able to get updates for apps like Facebook and games?

Not sure, maybe separate releases or using an older build of Xcode that will get deprecated for submitting. All I know is that no matter how many times I try to verify and submit a build with armv6 support to the App Store it gets denied until I take out the armv6 architecture.

To be more specific: As I understand it, using older versions of Xcode can work to a degree, until you start taking advantage of anything new or updated in iOS 6 that locks you into Xcode 4.5+, hence where we are today.

If you *just* recently paid for the "Remove Ads" feature, it's worth asking the App Store support crew for a refund (they're the only ones who can issue those, we don't have any control over transactions). I agree that's not's quite fair, but Apple's the onyl one who can issue refunds or even check on your account info whatsoever.

But surely SplashData has saved a version of every .ipa they ever created???

Seems like they could make a few people who have gone to the trouble of posting in this group and providing valuable feedback happy if they would send them older ipa's (with a disclaimer of NO SUPPORT). The ipa's are quite small enough to e-mail.

Personally, I found my "Plaintext 1.6.1.ipa", and restored that, but I'd like to find a "PlanText 1.7.7.ipa".

Isn't PlainText free (with options to purchase add-fee, passcode, etc)?

So, Jorge Mencos, post your e-mail, I'll send you 1.6.1 unless someone can make a case why that's not ethical.

Hi Marc, could you please send me Plain Text 1.6.1? I really need it, I used that great app for writing. I'd be really grateful to you. I will post my email as soon as you will reply. Thanks in advance.

Have you read this post:

There is no support on this List anymore, they aren't reading this List.
You could try the other list they suggest..

Hey, a few months late, but if you still have the ipa for Plaintext 1.7.7, I'd really appreciate a copy. I've been using version 2 for a while and its just so much more of a hassle. Thanks!

You cannot use it. Another user, a very kind user, sent me a version of Plain Text for my iPod: it cannot work because I did not buy it. To make it work on you device, you should have apple id and password of the original buyer's account. I tried in lots of ways, even cracking it, it does not work. The only solution is a tool called InstaSign, which resigns the app with your account data, making it compatible with you device. Otherwise, you waste your time.
