Hello all,
Attached is a document representing all the input gathered so far in
environmental caucuses conducted by Plains Justice across Iowa during
December 2007. We will continue to hold environmental caucuses even
after the presidential caucus, in preparation for the county
conventions in March, but we wanted to make this information available
for January 3. This is a public document intended to assist Iowa voters in shaping the state's environmental and public health agenda. Please forward and use it as much as you like. A "living" version will also be posted on our website that we will continue to update as more environmental caucuses take place.
The planks derive from direct input by hundreds of citizen participants in a series of
nonpartisan, statewide Iowa "environmental caucuses" as the highest
environmental priorities for all levels of Iowa government. The caucus series
was conducted by Plains Justice, a Cedar Rapids-based environmental law center,
through the generosity of the Joyce Foundation. For further information about
the caucus process and development of these planks, please contact me at 319-362-2120 or cla...@plainsjustice.org.
Details will also be available at www.plainsjustice.org.
Thank you so much for your interest and participation!
