Over the years any number of my books have been optioned for movies. What this means is that someone purchases from me the rights to a book I wrote, so that they might create, organize, and proceed to make a film using that book. Mind, it does not mean they must make an absolute replication of the book, but merely that they will use my text as the basis for a film. Nowhere, in any of the contracts I have signed, did I retain control of the film-script, though sometimes I have been given the right to review and respond.

For many other franchises, they have struggled to deliver a fourth movie, not for lack of trying, but the stories are due to continue. From Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy, where he always intended to have more than just three films, to animated films awaiting their fourth installment like How To Train Your Dragon and Despicable Me, there are a lot of trilogies that are intended to be larger still floating around. While most of these films are not guaranteed, it would be great to see where the creatives hoped for the story to go in a fourth movie.

The original How To Train Your Dragon franchise ran from 2010 to 2019 and included three movies and several animated series. Now, a fourth film is in the works with writer and director Dean DeBlois returning, but it's intended to be very different from the original. Following the Disney pattern of adapting its popular films into live-action, HTTYD will be the first Dreamworks animated property to receive a live-action makeover. Mason Thames has already been cast as the lead, Hiccup, with Nico Parker appearing as Astrid, and the film is due to be released in 2025 (via The Direct).

Like her, I love movies that empower women, embrace friendship, are relatable, and show the solidarity and strength of a strong sisterhood. Movies that depict the type of conversations and bonds that black women share and experience always rank high in my book. There may be people who disagree with this post, but here are 10 reasons why Waiting to Exhale is the Best Female Ever.

As I mentioned at the beginning of this review I have always been a fan of most types of historical dramas. I am an even a bigger fan of true story movies as I have always found there to be something really engaging about a movie based on true historical facts. In the case of Waiting for Anya it seems like it is a combination of historical fiction and true story. As far as I could tell Jo and the other characters are not based on real people and the events portrayed in the movie never happened. The book and movie were based on historical events though. It may have not gone the same as portrayed in the movie, but during World War II people in the towns on the French border did help sneak many Jewish people across the border into Spain to escape the Nazis. So Waiting for Anya may technically be fiction but it is inspired by true events.

But the constant presence is Reynolds, who's clearly trying to mimic Jason Lee's know-it-all routine from another of Smith's movies, "Mallrats." Unfortunately, he's not as endearing as Lee and quickly becomes an irritant.

'My name is Dexter Goad and I've been writing, producing, and Directing films for 15 years. I got into filmmaking because I tried getting my novels published for 10 years to no avail. So I looked into getting one self published. What I discovered is that if you finance your own novel you're considered a hack, pathetic, a loser. Your novel isn't good enough so you had to pay for it yourself. However, if you finance your own music album, your own paintings, your own movies, you're respected as an artist MAKING IT HAPPEN! I've never figured out why this hypocrisy exists, but its a real thing. So, at the time, I was young and I cared what people thought of me & I didn't want to look like a loser. So, I decided to finance a film based on one of my short stories instead of finance the publication of one of my novels. The film turned out horribly, but I discovered I loved filmmaking way more than I'd ever loved novel writing and I've never looked back.'

'I thought it would be interesting to explore the concept that everybody in a medical waiting room has their own story and in most cases they're going through something stressful or they wouldn't be there. Even if you're just there for a routine checkup, you're always afraid that they'll find something bad. If you could see stress as a visible thing, I'd imagine a hospital waiting room would be the most thick with it. After this I added in the layer about lying and protecting people with your lies.'

Maybe a little. Many of our friends have shown them to their kids and lots of those kids are younger than our oldest kids. Our kids come home from school and tell us about all the kids at school talking about the movies.

The age your child is ready to watch one of the Marvel movies might be very different from another child. Only you know how your child reacts to things like explosions, fight scenes, scary creatures, and other parts of these movies. Some children have no issue separating the fantasy world from reality and others can be greatly impacted by a short viewing.

Several of the Marvel movies are more family friendly than others and these are probably the movies we will be showing our kids first, despite our love of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. We would love to show them all the films in theatrical release order, but we are okay with them seeing these few at a younger age (probably age 10 or 11) and then debuting the entire MCU at a later age (closer to 12 or 13).

Because our kids are so interested in the Marvel characters and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in general, we have made a point of seeking out ways for them to enjoy the stories and characters outside of the movies. Here are some ideas to bring the MCU to life in your home that are safe for the whole family.
