Dear Sir / Ma'am,

Greetings from PESIT - Bangalore South Campus!

It gives us great pleasure to announce and extend invitation for IEEE CE Society Future Directions international Workshop On IoT Application Development 2017” Organized by IEEE PESIT- Bangalore South Campus Student Branch in collaboration with IEEE RAS & IEEE CE, Bangalore Chapter and Future Directions Committee (USA).

We take this opportunity to invite you for this two-day workshop, which will be held on 24th – 25th November 2017 at PESIT - Bangalore South Campus, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.

Objective of the Workshop

This is the fifth in a series of workshops organized by the IEEE CE Society Future Directions Group. The previous editions took place in Kuala Lumpur, Thiruvananthapuram & Bengaluru and have attracted more than 200 participants all together. The series has a tradition of featuring eminent international experts from the IEEE CE Society (USA, Ireland), Cisco (India), Altiux Innovations (India), EURECOM (France), Oracle (France), Telecom Italia (Italy), QCRI (Qatar) and The Mitre Corporation (USA).

The Internet of Things and Smart City initiatives expect to connect 30-50 Billion of smart devices to the Internet creating a connected ecosystem and adding Trillions of USD to the world economy. But the current IoT ecosystem consists of applications that are infrastructure centric, non-interoperable, developed using proprietary modules and cloud based. It is widely acknowledged that the true potential of IoT is in horizontal, open, standardized and secure applications. Thus, the workshop aims at forming a platform to create secure, connected and interoperable consumer IoT applications.

We invite participants from Academia and Industry to advance their understanding on IoT application development with a consumer focus. Participating in the workshop will be valuable in terms of professional development, ameliorating your understanding of IoT and Smart Cities, business networking and learning novel areas of research.
