Subject: Fix It Fast Round 2 - 100% funding available for wayfinding signs and pavement markings
Kia ora koutou
Waka Kotahi is again offering 100% funding to councils who need to make critical improvements to their walking and cycling signs and pavement markings.
This limited fund is to help the public find the best way to walk and cycle in your towns.
Often our main walking and cycling routes are only obvious to those who planned them, because they are not clearly signposted. Poor wayfinding makes the routes difficult to follow. Getting lost makes it frustrating, and sometimes dangerous, for people trying to shift to active modes.
To be eligible for this fund, all new signs/pavement markings must follow accepted best practice, which can be found in our Cycling Network Guidance (www.nzta.govt.nz/cng).
Please consider the gaps in your wayfinding and fill out an application form now. Applications are due by 30 November 2020.
For any questions, please contact Jonathan Kennett, Senior Project Manager – Walking and Cycling, via email jonathan...@nzta.govt.nz or phone 027 284 5599
