Cities
of Making
Cities of Making aims to explore the role of urban based manufacturing in European cities in the 21st century. Using a combination of strategic and action research,
the CoM's ambition is to identify what works in supporting a resilient and innovative industrial base, and to test those solutions in a real world setting.
The goal of the project is to develop ideas, practices and policies focusing on public authorities (and many other relevant stakeholders) that may drive a new age of urban manufacturing embedded in place, people and locally available resources.

Think

Urban
Discovery and
STIPO
are proud to launch The
City at Eye Level Asia, the latest book packed with 43 inspiring case studies showcasing good public spaces as the backbone of the sustainable
city from across the region.
Congratulations to our Placemaking Europe's members who, together with Asian partners, made the book possible:
Hans
Karssenberg | Siënna
Veelders |
Charlot
Schans
There is a lot to learn from the stories in The City at Eye Level Asia book and from members of the Placemakers Asia network. Many public spaces in Asian cities are often multi-layered and multi-functional depending on the time of the day. There are no cookie-cutter
solutions as each city in the world is unique in its strengths and challenges, so we hope to discover many new layers of placemaking from our colleague network in the future.
