Hello All,
Happy New Year to you all!
We are about to start a project to look at how a large redevelopment project will impact our city and how we can soften that impact - highlight opportunities of the impact and learn from it.
If I can be pointed in the direction of similar work done or being done in NZ we can learn from - I know there are many examples from overseas as well - but our best first step is to find those within our borders for a start.

Hey Cyndi,
Sounds interesting, and would be happy to think of some NZ case studies and precedents that could help.
Would be good to know the nature of the redevelopment, residential, industrial, mixed-use and the context, this would be helpful and could help account for the likely impacts and methods for softening.

Hi Cyndi -
In Auckland a Development Response team was set up, and Barbara Holloway would be the one to talk to about how they mitigate impact of major construction etc.
Have you had any contact with them, or does anyone else on the list here know more?

There is some good, bad & the ugly from Christchurch in regards to the rebuild of infrastructure, the development of new public facilities and private sector projects over the past decade.

Sounds interesting, and would be happy to think of some NZ case studies and precedents that could help.
Would be good to know the nature of the redevelopment, residential, industrial, mixed-use and the context, this would be helpful and could help account for the likely impacts and methods for softening.

Great stuff Cyndi. Yes moving on from the riverside manager role to focus on some consultancy projects. I'll still do some work with the team there but looking forward to some new challenges.
