More About Martini Miller-Pānapa
Tūrou Hawaiki!
He uri tēnei nō Ngāti Kahungunu ki Heretaunga, nō Poutini Kai Tahu hoki. Ko Martini Miller-Pānapa tōku
ingoa. Ko au te Kaipūkenga Tangata Whenua Tākaro kei Ihi Aotearoa Sport New Zealand.
Kia ora, my name is Martini Miller-Pānapa and I am currently working at Sport New Zealand in the Tākaro
Māori (traditional Māori play) space. My background is in advocacy, indigenous academia and youth work and have recently come from working at the Office of the Children’s Commissioner. I have a Masters in Childhood Studies and Children’s Rights and hold a
special interest in indigenous constructions of rights and decolonising methodologies.
In my own time I am also a long-time practitioner of Parkour (having been actively involved in the development
of our national community for over 10 years) and am the Australasian representative for the global phenomenon ‘World Chase Tag’. But most importantly I am the father of a beautiful two year old daughter Māhina-a-rangi and spend much of my time introducing
her to the wonders of the world.
