Labor’s marriage supporters need our help

Dear Yuwandi, In Brief   Sign the marriage petition Tell your friends Activate your church I realise we have sent a lot of e-mails lately about marriage. But we do need your help. In just three weeks, the Australian Labor Party could become the first mainstream political party to drop its support for marriage between a man and a woman. This would be a tragedy. Recently we began supporting a NEW on-line petition (if you've already signed this, thanks, and please pass it on) aimed at the ALP conference urging the Party to keep its policy support for marriage. Since then more than 44,000 people have signed. Again, if you are one these, thankyou. Our earlier petition to the Senate –  which closed off on August 24 with 52,000 signatures – had great effect. But this is a NEW petition. The battle has now moved to the December 2 ALP National Conference in Sydney and it is now vital that we send a strong message of support for marriage before the party votes to change its platform. There are many in Labor working hard to preserve marriage. They need our support. Here’s what we need you to do: If you haven’t already, please sign the petition and pass it to your friends via e-mail and Facebook. Ask your pastor if this video and slide can be shown in your church. The video is just three minutes and features some prominent Australian Christians such as Darlene Zschech and John Anderson. Ask your church if they would send the petition link to the church’s e-mail list, urging people to sign. Thanks in anticipation of your support in building the numbers. Selamat pagi

Saya memang pernah mendengarkan briefing dari beliau yg di bawah ini waktu saya hadir di Seminar Masyarakat Kristani Departemen Pertahanan di Canberra sekitar 2 Agustus y.l.

Kampanyenya memang penting sekali sebab sebagian eksekutif Partai Buruh ingin melegalisasikan UU yg menyetujui hak perkawinan bagi pasangan yg berkelamin sama.

Syukurlah saat ini PM Julia cenderung memberikan hak anggota parlemen dari Partai Buruh untuk voting berdasarkan hati nurani masing-masing, jadi RUU itu pasti gagal.

Konperensi Partai Buruh tanggal 2 Desember y.a.d. ingin memaksa Julia untuk mengharuskan anggota parlemen dari Partai Buruh menyetujui RUU tersebut. Argumentasinya, ijin untuk voting berdasarkan hati nurani masing-masing itu TIDAK DEMOKRATIS. Lucu sekali, akibatnya ada satu pembaca koran yg mengusulkan gimana kalau setiap anggota parlemen memberikan 'representative vote' yaitu voting berdasarkan apa yg diinginkan konstituen mereka masing-masing. Lucu sekali, memang orang sering lupa arti demokrasi.
