Welcometo the world of vMix! vMix is a professional broadcasting software that can be used for streaming live events such as gaming or newscasting. The main vMix software is limited to Windows os use for the time being.

This manual for the Loupedeck vMix plugin is separated into smaller articles and will go through all the vMix functions that Loupedeck provides for your Live and CT devices. These articles are designed to help you understand the possibilities that the vMix plugin integration provides and will guide you to set up your own specific workflow to tailor your own individual needs. Sure, you can also use and/or modify the default vMix-profile as you wish!

You should be able to start using your device without any further adjustments. In case you have also assigned or want to use MIDI commands to control the vMix shortcuts, remember to list the MIDI commands and add your Loupedeck device as a MIDI Controller in the vMix Shortcut Settings.

(Note: The 'vMix Bridge' and 'vMix Proxy' helper apps are only needed when using our Unisketch products. We have transitioned our vMix development to our new Blue Pill platform. Please use any of our Blue Pill products to get the latest integration with vMix.)

Now you can get tactile control with industrial strength hardware controller for any vMix production. Select from any of our UniSketch based controllers to get fully programmable buttons for traditional operation or advanced automation. You simply configure the buttons to switch inputs, control downstream keyers, activate transition effects and more.

By having a dedicated production switcher interface you free up the computer keyboard for editing titles, handling instant replays and more in the vMix software. This is great for a more effective production or if you want multiple operators to work on different aspects of the production at the same time.

In the vMix Action List you can see a full list of actions currently implemented for vMix control. We need your help to expand this list with usefull features, so please contact us with thoughts and ideas.

In order for the vMixBridge application to work properly you need to make sure the application is granted access to either your Private Network or your Public Network dependent on which network the SKAARHOJ controller is connected to.

I am looking to send audio from my QU 32 to vMix and am wondering if I can do it over a Gigabit network connection?

I want to combine sound and video on a PC some distance from my board. I can easily use the line in, but would much rather get the sound over a network connection.

There must be some kind of app I can run on Windows that can reach the A&H board, I am not sure what my options are though.

Thanks in advance or the help.

I did find some relatively inexpensive options. A Behringer um2 can take XLR/TRS and converts it to USB. It only has a bit depth of 16, so the dynamic range might be a bit off. They run around $50usd. Alternately a Steinberg UR22mkII is fairly similar but better built It runs at a bit depth of 24, so better in dynamic range. They run around $170.

actually you *could* transfer audio by taking an out from the Qu into an FM transmitter to transmit locally

Then an FM receiver into the pad or I have a non apple pad with FM built in as an ap

quality would not be nearly as good but you could get the sound that way

if it is going to end up on a livestream on utoob then it will still be better than 99% of what is posted there

Thanks all. for now, I think I am going to send a behringer. (there is a model up from the um2, the umc22. for $20 more it is not plastic and has some other minor upgrades to it. But for what I need it to do, William, I think you are right nobody with a golden ear in this crowd)

Thanks all for the help.

we use vmix as camera input for zoom. unfortunately, zoom then optimizes much too aggressively, so that the output quality for the webinar participants is poor. is there anything you can do to make the quality better. thank you.

Per the dev documentation on the vMix App from the Zoom App Marketplace believe this is possible "Support for up to 720p and 1080p where supported by the Zoom plan and account (refer to Zoom web site for more information)"

Hi @itnovum @karjoa interesting! So, you can actually test your resolution from Accessing meeting and phone statistics. This will determine your send/receive resolution scale when in-meeting. Lets say your screen size is greater than Xp and the user count in-meeting is greater than or equal to X, that will decrease/increase of the resolution scales to main Zoom window, therefore, sending/receiving 360P or a pixel that fits within the screen size; this my theory though. For the best video experience I suggest Enabling HD video for Zoom Meetings which you will need to be a pro, business, or enterprise user for send/receiving 720p and 1080p. Hope this info helps!

Thanks for the response. I have enabled HD though I am using free account because I'd like to test the latest vMix/Zoom integration first. I can also purchase the license should it work, yet for now how can I be sure this is going to provide me proper quality? Also vMix have replied to me that Zoom uses high compression ratio and therefore the quality might be poor. I am a demanding consumer because I'd like to use it for broadcasting purposes (adding remote guests/experts/commentators).

Videoguys understands the gear we sell because we use it ourselves! Our staff are videographers, live streamers, editors, filmmakers and vloggers just like you. We have worked with schools, churches, corporate AV and independent producers like you.

You can speak to a live person Monday through Friday from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm EST at 800-323-2325, by chat or by email to sa...@videoguys.com. We can help you find the live streaming, video production and editing equipment that meets your needs and budget.

But one of the most important tools in your arsenal will be the live video streaming software you use. With many platforms available with varying strengths, weaknesses, and price points, it can be difficult to navigate and choose the right one. Furthermore, different platforms run better or worse depending on hardware requirements. This means finding the best solution for your needs can be arduous and time-consuming.

However, this article guide will help. We compare the main features and minimum requirements of some of the top live video solutions and streaming services available. We cover the top video streaming contenders before highlighting some foundational features and how to choose the right platform for your live streaming needs.

For Dacast users, OBS Studio is especially easy to use, since we offer a customized version of OBS Studio that includes Dacast as one of the default streaming services. This gives our broadcasters an automated setup to start streaming their live events, including easy and secure video upload capabilities.

When choosing the best live streaming software to use for your broadcasting needs, you need to consider the type of system you will be working with. You need to know what operating system your computer uses, and how much RAM and storage your computer has.

Wirecast offers premium support for an additional yearly fee. Users of earlier versions of Wirecast can upgrade to the latest version at a reduced cost. They also offer a free trial version of their software that includes watermarks.

When it comes to Streamlabs vs OSB, they both offer free versions, but OSB is always free. When comparing pricing for vMix vs OBS, the pricing structure for vMix is much more complicated and is based on the quality of the video you want to encode.

Generally, the limiting factor here is your hardware, rather than the software itself. Once you start inputting a range of cameras, animations, and so on, the load on a computer becomes taxing. Sufficient RAM, a fast RAID or SSD disk, and a powerful processor make all the difference here.

As we mentioned, vMix comes in six versions. Each version supports a different number of inputs. The Basic and Basic HD versions of vMix only support four total inputs. Each camera, image, animation, audio source, or other input counts against that limit.

With OBS Studio, Streamlabs OBS, and Wirecast, there are no limitations regarding how many sources you can connect. With Streamlabs vs OBS or Wirecast vs OBS, things are equal when it comes to multi-source streaming capabilities for these live streaming software options.

Wirecast and vMix both have native support for multi-bitrate streaming. Streamlabs OBS supports dynamic bitrate streaming. This allows users to send out multiple simultaneous versions of a live stream, each at a different quality, at the same time.

Starting with Wirecast 7, Telestream began collaborating with NewBlueFX. This allows them to include a 3D animated title tool in their application. The free version included with Wirecast is somewhat basic.

However, you can upgrade this tool if you pay for the Standard, Advanced or Ultimate versions with Wirecast. This tool adds limited NDI support for pulling in animated titles from another computer on your network.

vMix includes a built-in title tool. Titles that you create in this tool can be animated using XAML, but this requires some basic programming knowledge. Using an application like Microsoft Blend or Adobe After Effects may simplify this process. There are various tutorials available to help you through this process with vMix.

It may not sound like much, but in a production environment, any time saved is golden. OBS Streaming video software integrates directly with Twitch, YouTube, Facebook Live DailyMotion, and several others. Again, Dacast offers a version customized with the best OBS Studio settings to use with our online video platform.
