One of the things I enjoy about working in the workshop down at HackSpace is seeing what other people are up to, but as I don't get to come down too often I don't usually get to see things progress/finished.

Therefore, I thought it might be fun to see and discuss finished projects on here that people have been working on at the space.

I'll go first, below is a small side table kinda thing that I made from an unknown species of wood (lots of discussion on this with loads of species being thrown around, anyone else hazard a guess?). Mortise and tenon stretcher with half lap leg supports (wasn't too confident on using tenons here but that would have made it look cleaner)

Feel free to post projects below, would genuinely be interested in some of the woodwork that comes out of HS.

Really nice work. I have a live-edge slab of Ash that I was planning on doing something very similar with. Are the joints nice and stable? My only worry is racking across the whole piece and putting undue stress around the tenons.

Just me then? Ok!

Here is an oak slab bench that I recently finished down the Hackspace. The legs were turned on the lathe from Oak also and the tenons were wedged with Walnut. A lot of people were asking where I got the slab from, link below.

Thanks guys!

I had spied the Ash lying around, can I ask where you got it from? It looked 'green' so I wasn't sure if it was freshly milled from somewhere? It looks fun anyway!

The joints very stable even before I wedged them, this particular bench won't have much weight put on it but it can most definitely withstand a fair bit without any legs splaying or creaking. The height is around 45cm but if it were any taller I think I'd consider some stretchers.

For anyone that's seen me down the past month, I've been working on this stool design and thought I'd share it here. It is european oak with angled bridle joints and mortice and tenons for the curved cross brace. The slightly curved profiles of the leg front and tops were all done by hand with a kanna.
