The International Silver Cleaning day was introduced in 1979 by famous
writer and necrodesigner Yuri Shymanovsky. This day became wide known to the World
due to Internet.
Since 1995 the number of people, celebrating this day, is rapidly
growing. It's impossible to say how many people take part in this
celebration nowadays. On this day people collect all the silver they have
and clean it removing tarnish to return white color. Dishes, jewelry, old
coins, antiques - all the silver available at home becomes a subject of
cleaning. Traditionally the cleaning must be done my male. However it's
okey for women and children to participate. Additionally on this day people
buy silver stuff or make silver gifts. The dinner on this day must
necessarily include at least one silver item on the table, like spoon,
glass-holder, etc. If you have no such things then put on silver jewelry.
