Ciekawe wyniki, cyt. (tłum.Google):
"The Biontech vaccine is significantly less effective in five to eleven year olds than in older children or even adults. Although it
prevents serious illnesses, it offers little protection against infections.
Over the period studied, effectiveness in older children dropped from 66 percent initially to 51 percent. For younger children, it
dropped from 68 percent to just 12 percent. Particularly alarming: the numbers change drastically between the ages of 11 and 12. In
the last week of observation, the effectiveness was 67 percent for 12-year-olds, but only 11 percent for eleven-year-olds.
So agree the researchers and US federal officials who reviewed the data: The sharp drop in vaccine effectiveness in younger children
may be due to them receiving only a third of the dose given to older children and adults.
The results underscored the need to gather more information about the best dose, number and timing of vaccinations for children,
said Dr. Rosenberg. And also showed that vaccination is just one of several measures to protect against the virus, along with masks
and social distancing.
A longer interval, eight weeks, between the first and second vaccination could also improve protection. Or a version of the vaccine
that specifically knocks out the omicron variant."
