first of all, I would like to thank you for bringing pkg-config to
eclipse :D
I just installed the plug-in on my Linux Ubuntu 11.04 machine and am a
bit confused how to actually use the it.
Do I /have/ to set PKG_CONFIG_PATH and PKG_CONFIG_LIBDIR in order to use
the plug-in? I tried to use it without setting either and created a new
project. However, Properties --> C/C+ Build --> Settings --> Pkg-config
stays empty :(
Next thing I tried to set PKG_CONFIG_PATH to /usr/lib/pkgconfig and
restarted Eclipse, but still nothing. Then I set PKG_CONFIG_PATH to
/usr/lib/pkgconfig, restarted, nothing in the list. Then I tried to set
both, but that didn't move things either.
So how is this supposed to work? Is there maybe something I have to set
up in advance for it to find the pkg-config executable
(/usr/bin/pkg-config, which is in the PATH)?
Thanks,
Robert
Thanks for letting me know about this issue.
There was a problem with the last revision that prevented to list the
packages. It is fixed by now and all you need to do is to update the
plug-in. The env vars need not to be set on the preference page if you
have pkg-config utility in your PATH system env var.

I just updated to version 0.5.1.201106131911 via the "Check for updates"
button. However, the list is still not showing up for me. I tried
setting the environment variables manually, but it didn't help.

Now I took time to test the latest fix and the latest update works on
Ubuntu 11.04 as long as pkg-config and e.g. libgtk2.0-dev are installed.

Thanks for checking it out. It works as it is supposed now.
