I think limiting amounts of fat is good, but if the fat used is olive oil or coconut oil this might be helpful. (limiting to no more than 1 ounce per day).
I take hempseed oil capsules for my essential fatty acids and omega 3's. Essential fatty acids helps liver disease.

Increases immune system

I use coconut milk ;  I try to use fresh for it is in abundance here locally.

Virgin coconut oil is said to be good for a person.  Cottonseed/Palm oils  to be avoided.
Virgin coconut oil (VCO) was found to have antioxidant property
Virgin coconut oil has antinociceptive and anti-inflammatory activities.

[Liver Protective] Hepatoprotective activity of dried- and fermented-processed virgin coconut oil

. . .coconut does not cause heart disease. It is animal proteins that cause this. Here is a 2004 article from Sumatra, Indonesia. I once visited Lake Toba in Sumatra.

intake of animal foods, total protein, dietary cholesterol and less plant derived carbohydrates were predictors of CHD [coronary heart disease].

I use coconut milk and young coconut water  in cakes, brown rice pudding and coconut oil in cookies.  PLD'rs tend to have lower cholesterols than the general population. It is something inherent to PLD.

I am sorry to say that I have also come to experience cheese, milk (cow or goat), eggs, butter do raise cholesterol, even when taken in small amounts. Sometimes I find it difficult to resist local farm made goat cheese and my cholesterol soars to 193.

If the end result  you want is to lower cholesterol there are other more effective means. Diet seems very effective.

For instance:
I have PLD and PKD and keep a cholesterol of 163. I eat vegan. I think this helps.

I tried the heart attack proof diet
and I received a 15 point cholesterol reduction in two weeks.

Red rice yeast seems useful but can cause liver functioning problems. If you try this get liver functioning prior to beginning and again in 4 weeks.
Statins are also very effective.  I participated in a PKD clinical trial (6 weeks long). It lowered my cholesterol to 128, but in such a short trial did not seem to affect the size of my kidneys. Researchers were hoping statins would be useful to decrease PKD kidney growth.
