Tell us a bit about who you are, what you teach and where you work so we can begin to know you.

I am Maria Knee from Deerfield Community School where I teach a full day class of kindergarten students. I am looking forwarding to learning with others as we share our interests, our questions, our ideas and our discoveries with each other. When I'm not working at school, I enjoy kayaking and snow shoeing (depending on the season) as well as my flower garden.

Hi, my name is Elke Carr. I teach first grade at Bethlehem Elementary School. I love learning with and from others and am excited to be part this group. In my free time (what there is of it) I like to try out new recipes, take our dog Sandy for long walks, or just sit and read.

Welcome Elke,
Thanks for joining us. Looking forward to working together. Will you be coming down to Manchester for the Christa McAuliffe Technology Conference?

Hi, my name is Sheri Stanley, I am both and classroom and special education teacher for an integrated preschool program at Deerfield Community School.  I love to find out what others are doing, get inspired, and make new friends. I feel like I never have enough time, but during the summer I do enjoy gardening and camping.  I also like to cook and even sit and read on occasion :)

Hi, I'm Eliza Hutchinson.

I teach kindergarten in Quechee, Vermont, at the Ottauquechee School.  I am an unashamed copycat of fellow teachers near and far, through time and space. There are bits and pieces of so many teachers in my classroom, and I'm always on the look-out for more ideas.  I enjoy taking my class into the woods, dancing together, and a long read-aloud, among many other things.  Outside the classroom I bead earrings, visit Alaska as often as possible, do a lot of camping, and browse the heck out of the internet.
So nice to meet you!

Eliza

I'm Elizabeth Fortier, a special educator and classroom teacher in the same integrated preschool program in Deerfield as Sheri. We work in a co-teaching model. I enjoy seeing what others are doing and getting ideas of new things to do in our room. I am always excited to find new projects or activities to use in our room. In my spare time, I am working on making our new house feel more like a home and playing with and walking our adopted puppy, Lucy. When the weather is nice, I enjoy kayaking, snowshoeing, skiing, and sometimes a bit of hiking. I also love a good book or movie with a cup of hot chocolate.

Hello, all! I'm Kathy and I teach grade one (but have a grade one/two this year) in Moose Jaw, SK, Canada. Teaching, sharing and learning take up a lot of my time, but I each day I try to squeeze in some reading time just for me.

Maria,
I won't make it to the Christa McAuliffe Conference for the first time in many years. We have a new principal and thus many new initiatives that take up a lot of our time.

I am Cheryl Kaake from Auburn where I teach Kindergarten.  We have 3 half day sessions - I do two and we have another 1/2 day teacher.  Collaboration with other teachers is an essential element for meaningful professional development.  Who better to learn from/with then others who spend their day in the trenches with our precious children!  I look forward to sharing with you all.

My name is Nina Baillargeon. I'm a second grade teacher at Main Street Elementary School in Exeter, NH.  I'm looking forward to learning and sharing with other educators. Bicycling, kayaking, skiing, snowshoeing and just observing nature are my favorite out of school activities.

My name is Laura Read.  I teach first grade in Littleton, New Hampshire.  This was my first year with a Promethian Board and a set of IPads. These two devices have opened my eyes to how much there is to learn about technology and how it can be used to help students learn.  I am looking forward to sharing ideas with all of you!

My name is Beth and I have been teaching in the Manchester Public School System for 16 years.  I taught first gr. for 11 and kindergarten for 5. I am eager to learn more everyday about how to become the best teacher possible.  I love my profession, children and learning. I hope to learn more from my peers in this collaborative ring to do the best I can for young children. I have a daughter and a very close family which I am grateful for each and everyday. I hope to learn and give back in this environment.
Beth
