Hey all,

This Sunday, a group of Israeli West Bank settlers will be selling homes on occupied territory to Jews in Miami and Boca Raton. Everyone who cares about peace should be outraged. Their previous event was held in Teaneck, New Jersey and was protested by eleven prominant peace groups including A Jewish Voice for Peace and the US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation. The protests were covered by media such as JTA, AP and Haaretz. There was also a New York Times editorial which condemned (in a lazy Phil Ochs liberal way) the practices of this group.

The Tel Rumeida project is run largely by Israeli Jews. Look at their videos. www.telrumeidaproject.org. The people throwing stones at Palestinian school children are the ones who are coming to OUR community to sell houses.

I believe this is important because it encompasses all of the issues we claim to care about down here: anti-gentrification, human rights, workers' rights (because many settlements are built over Palestinian agricultural land), and anti-racism. Unlike some activists down here, I believe in standing up against injustice whether my people (the Jews) are responsible for it or not. This pisses me off and you should be pissed off too! If you can't come to our planning meeting, then please try to show up to our protest this Sunday. If you'd like to protest the Boca events, write to me and I'll give you the addresses. Details to follow.

Best,

R
