Further Incentive to Hare a Run
The Jungle has an additional condition for receiving a run award. In addition to completing 25 runs to reach the next award level, the hasher must also have hared at least one run of the 25 runs to receive their run award. If the hasher did not hare a run in that time period, the award will be held until they have added their name to the hare line to hare an upcoming run.
A Sites And Restricted Areas Map
The Jungle website now has an A Sites And Restricted Areas Map. The map displays all past & future A-Sites, along with known restricted areas. It also indentifies A-Sites for future runs that may be too close to each other or a restricted area. The map is also useful for hares planning which area to use for their run as it displays A-Sites that have not been used recently, and are not near any A-Sites selected for upcoming runs.

From Pattaya Tai, turn right onto Sukhumvit Rd and drive south to Soi 87 (approx 500mts on the left after the Thepprasit Rd intersection, turn left and drive all the way out to the lake.
At the 7-11 turn right and continue on through the Wat complex for approx 2.2 kms and look for the HHH to turn right, turn right and drive 300mts up to the old quarry on the right, the A site is in the quarry

A note from the hares: Hash promise, the trail will be relatively short and easy, less than 7 km, as this run is more about the food than a tough, long trail.
Also, please bring tables if you have them!!!
One more important note: If the food you're bringing to share needs to be kept cool, you'll need to bring your own cooler and ice. There won't be room in the beer/softie coolers, nor will there be extra ice to share.

Run Report By The Wizard
LORD LUCAN MEMORIAL RUNDue to the untimely passing of legendary hasher and Co Founder of PJH3 Lord Lucan whose funeral service was held on 1st March, run 439 was held a week later than originally scheduled. In respect of the occasion it was put forward that there should be an annual memorial run to remember all fallen hashers.
Our A site for this run was Monastery Hill, a rarely used site by PJH3 but more frequently used by other hashes, and the hares were Spastic Whore King (virgin hare) and Jackal. A healthy number of sign ups congregated, mostly taking advantage of the shaded areas around the A site as the heat of the sun this afternoon was brutal.
Just after 4 pm the runners set off; straightforward instructions had been given by the hares with the runners expecting a run of 8.4 km and the walkers 4.8km. Within a couple of hundred metres the trail took us from the base of Monastery Hill and out into the open farmland that surrounds it – and into the blazing sunshine. And it wasn’t too long before the pack encountered difficulty at a check, despite the words of the hares’ ringing in our ears ‘checks may be 200m long’. Suffice to say that the pack became fragmented with the FRBs seemingly having heard a call of On On from somewhere afar, dashing off in that direction. A rival call was heard from somewhere else and that was that for the pack keeping together. Just about keeping on the tail of the FRBs who had run without paper for about 700m, some of the other runners caught up at the walkers / runners split which was on the verge of a roadside. The runners were taken through a bit of rough scrub land and down towards what ought to have been the local lake, but due to the lack of rain was now just a dusty wide-open bowl with no shade in sight and barely a hint of a breeze. Several more km of open running tested all but the fittest of the runners with many deciding that it was too hot to run and committing to walking the rest of the trail – a wise decision in the unrelenting heat of the afternoon. Fortunately, as we neared the hill and the A site a little shade was afforded and respite for the many overheating runners.
Back at the A site the ladies, led by Cookie Monster were preparing to serve some delicious food that went down exceptionally well with all who partook. Cannonball and GM in waiting Arse Bandit got the circle underway, notable mostly for 2 female virgins being brought into the circle and subsequently left standing on their own whilst a couple of guys on the ice distracted the attention of Arse Bandit who was running the circle at that time. The rest of the circle was good natured and fun – did the circle end because we ran out of beer or was it just a happy coincidence? Either way the eskies were largely empty on the way back.
A good day for all at the PJH3 and especial thanks to the hares that had already started to lay the trail before its last-minute cancellation and had to redo it a week later.

From Pattaya Klang turn left onto Sukhumvit road and drive north to the highway 7 on ramp, take the exit and drive out the Rayong exit approx 1km before the highway 36 flyover.
Pay your 10 baht toll and drive down under and back up onto highway 36, DO NOT merge with 36 and continue on down the service road, approx 1km after passing under the 3240 flyover, look for the HHH to turn left just before a Shell Service Station.
Turn left and continue on for approx 700 mts and look for the HHH to turn right down a track in the trees. The A site is at the sala on the right, approx 100 mts in from the road.

travel caused by COVID-19 we are postponing the opening of registrations for
the next Monkey Run. We'll open registrations once the situation stablizes and
we're certain travel restrictions will have been lifted by the run date.

Due
to the ongoing uncertainly and disruption of travel caused by COVID-19, you
should hold off on booking travel to the Monkey Outstation until the world
returns to some semblance of normal. Fortunately there is still enough time
between now and October for that to happen, but as we get closer to the run
date and if the situation has not improved we may have to cancel or change the
date of the Outstation.
Misdirections To A-Site
From Pattaya Klang, turn left onto Sukhumvit Rd and drive to the Soi Siam Country Club intersection.
Turn right at the lights and follow Siam Country Club all of the way out to the entrance to the Golf Club, continue past the entrance and around the loop in the road, do not turn off this road and continue on and look for the HHH to turn right up a dirt track.
(if you reach a T intersection in front of you, you have gone approx 200mts too far).
Turn right down the dirt track and look for an indication of where the A site is on your right.

Due to COVID-19 and restrictions to control the spread of the virus, all Jungle runs and events are suspended. Jungle events will resume when the Thai government announces bars can reopen. Until then, stay safe, stay healthy, and stay hydrated with plenty of beer.
