Has anyone build a band pass filter for use with this kit?

This little radio is subject to AM broadcast overload. A band pass filter would really help this radio. Has anyone built one yet?

There appears to be 2 solutions to make the Pixie receiver usable based on my reading.
1. Install two 7.023 crystals in the RX path with back to back diodes. This solution implements a narrow band pass filter with minimal insertion loss. The Rock Mite kit uses this method.

2. Install a LC band pass filter in the RX path prior to the detector diode -- see March 2016 QST on modifying the QRP 49er kit. The band pass filter in this solution will allow coverage of the whole 40 meter band allowing change out of the XTAL to 7.030 or 7.040.

I have ordered 2 more Pixies to play with and will report my findings -- good or bad.

I have ordered 2 bandpass filter kits from QRP labs. One for 40 M and one for 20 M. Will report back once the 40 Meter version is working.

Feel free to post your findings.

Putting a 1 uh choke across the antenna input to ground significantly removes the BCI. The TX does not seem to be reduced. Comments on this simple change would be appreciated.

Thanks for the info. I'd like to cut out the AM broadcast interference without winding toroids. This looks like a great place to start.
