No mail from contact form

Installed and set up the latest pixie version.
Contact form does not send mail.
Mail is received for any changes to account, add a new user, etc., the
cgi-mailer sends the mail.
No mail from contact form.
Read through FAQ's and forum posts, could not find any fixes.
Site is hosted on 1and1.com.
Any help is appreciated
