Welcome from the Retro Gaming Expo

Thank you for coming by our table at Retro Gaming Expo last weekend.  We were with the Portland Indie Game Squad, and 23 more people signed up for our newsletter including parents and people interested in volunteering.  We are finalizing the volunteer roles this week and will have our newsletter out on the 15th. 

We were asked a number of questions about the camps, so let me offer this brief summary:

1.  The first camp will be a weekend event in January or February 2013.

2.  After that we will offer a 2-week summer camp as well as after school access and programs for home school communities.

3.  Yes, we will have Minecraft.  Kids keep asking!

4.  We will begin with Middle and Highschool age youths but expand to a full K-12 program in the coming year.

Right now we are a community group and volunteer based, but we are in process of obtaining a 501(c)(3) umbrella organization.  This means we can begin recruiting sponsorships and look forward to paying our staff and mentors for their great work.  

Our team is forming, and everyone is quite excited to empower youth education and leadership using video games.  We hope you'll join us and help grow the program.
