I have manually looked at the repo and the package appears to be there., I have also tried adding additional mirrors to /etc/apt/sources/list to no effect.

Generally, this sort of error occurs when you have not done a "sudo apt-get update" first.

I too have same issue for new installs trying to install gnash.
The archive.raspberrypi.org mirror seems to be missing the binary-armhf directory and so the update fails. I switched to using the Oxford University mirror and everything updated normally.
