2022 was a busy year with the release of many highly requested features and helpful guides. My highlights were the 1-on-1 deep dives with our customers and founder through the new Founder & Friends series.
For us, 2023 is the year of building out and opening up our Public API, so that all customers can take advantage of their Raygun data and transform them into useful workflows, data visualisations and more. We can’t wait to see what you come up with this year as we move towards becoming API-first at Raygun HQ.

Raygun launches public API |
We have been working on this for a while on this behind the scenes, so our excitement couldn’t have been greater when we launched our public API in November. This isn't just about giving you programmatic access to some Raygun features (though the API will make your account setup and management a lot easier), we are following OpenAPI standards to open up access to all your Raygun data in a secure and scalable way.
All those powerful insights about your customers’ experiences can then be directly embedded in your workflows, formatting and directing the data to where it is needed across your whole team.

Update: Expanding our new Public API functionality |
|
|
In December 2022, we continued on our journey towards being API-first with two new updates – non-expiring tokens and regenerating API keys. |
|
|
November and December’s releases mark exciting new steps on our journey towards being API-first. Our work on the Raygun API is ongoing, and we’d love to hear your feedback on what you think we should build next. If you have any suggestions, please let us know by filling out this form. |

Other recent feature releases |
There have been plenty of powerful new releases at Raygun this quarter: |
|
|
Raygun payments now support 3DS v2 authentication |
With this release we now support the authentication protocol 3DS v2. This protocol is quickly becoming a requirement for some institutions around the world (specifically in Europe).
This change is part of our ongoing commitment to global security compliance and adhering to the latest authorization standards. Users of Raygun will be taken to a hosted payment page when making credit card payments to authenticate with 3DS v2. |

|
UX improvements to Dashboard tiles |
For those of you obsessing over your crash-free users score (you should!), we’ve added more granularity to the score on dashboards. Sometimes the difference between 99.98% and 99.99% are your most important customers!
We’ve also extended the duration for all date-based dashboard tiles from 2 weeks to 1 month. This makes it much more convenient to compare month-on-month changes of vital metrics, such as crash-free users.

Removing Flowdock integration with Raygun |
Broadcom (who owns CA Flowdock) recently announced the End of Life of the Flowdock service, with the maintenance and service discontinuing on December 31st, 2022. In response, we have removed CA Flowdock from our list of officially supported integrations. |
Full pricing transparency with our new pricing calculation |
We’ve made a couple of pricing enhancements in 2022, including the ability to reserve larger volume of events at a 30% discount compared to on-demand events.
With the increasing flexibility in pricing, many customers might be wondering what’s best for their scenario. This is why we built a pricing calculator on the Raygun pricing page to help you work out the best plan for your consumption and use case. |

Expanding Raygun's public API |
2023 will be the year of building out our Public API. We have already added more functionality just before the end of last year, and the new year will see some big additions.
The ability to create Raygun applications via the API is possibly our most requested feature yet, and is on the way, as well as provisioning of user accounts to your Raygun teams. Programmatic creation of alerts and deployment tracking rounds this up so that you can automate the complete process for any new client or application: create Raygun app, add users to the team, set up the alerts you need, and track your deployments in minutes.
As we continue to build out our API capabilities, we will also open them up for all Raygun customers to use and build upon. |
And yes, we are looking at a Terraform provider as well. Have some feedback for us about Terraform? Just hit reply and let us know! |
Microsoft Teams for Alerting |
We are building another native integration for Alerting and you can take a sneak peek of the Microsoft Teams integration here. We are aiming for a March release, so stay tuned for details. |
