In extracting parameters from poly-lines, there are velocity distributions even where there are no arrows, I would like to know why?

In PIV, you correlate "interrogation areas". PIV assumes that the velocity in each interrogation area is constant. For each correlation area (e.g. 32 x 32 px), only 1 vector is shown in the centre. But this vector represents the velocity in the whole correlation area.
