Does PIVlab work with .tif image data too ? I loaded my tif files but it does not show the content of my data!

Hi, there are many different types of tif images. "Normal" tif images work. But multi layer tiff images do not work (yet). Because I don't know why multi layer tif images do actually exist and where they come from...

Dear William,
Thank you for your reply.

My Inputs are in one layer. Do you have any idea why PIVlab cannot show the content? I am attaching a pic of the PIVlab when images are imported. I want to make sure I can go further.

Thank you in advance for your help

Most likely, the command window of MATLAB will show you what the issue is. But you can also attach the images here.

The problem is that nothing happens, no errors, and even nothing in the MATLAB workspace!
Sorry, I did not want to take up your time, my inputs are different from your data; I have two elevation data at different times, which show displacements of the ground surface, and I found a paper in which they used PIV to find the displacement velocities in the 3 dimensions. I just wanted to use PIVlab to do the same.

The size of my inputs exceeds the limit, So if you are interested in my problem (since it seems to be out of your field), I can upload them somewhere else and share the downloading link with you.

I really appreciate your time.

Yes please upload the images, so I can check why it doesn't work

Dear William,
I appreciate your support,
I think I solved the problem; I just normalized my input files, and then it works. However, I see that PIV somehow finds displacement based on one input, I am saying this because the displacement is in every direction! It should not be like this. Compared to the pre-event image, it should show displacement in two opposite directions, like either up and down or right and left.

You can find my inputs in the following link: Please, when you find free time,  try it.

Hi,
I don't really understand what you mean with "the displacement is in every direction". I analyzed the footage here, and I am pretty sure that this is the correct displacement of the imamge data. If this is not what you expect, then your image data might contain unwanted displacements.

Hi,

I am very thankful for processing my images. Yes, I am trying to find field data to understand the displacements. I was expected the vectors to be in only two opposite rotations, but your opinion could also be reasonable

Thank you for your great tool and support :)

Actually, .tif format is not added in the regular expression filter by default so you need to add it in the regular expression filter box which prompts in the image import pop up window. I am attaching the photo for your reference
