Try-A-Bike 2012: this Sunday, 10-5, at the Bud Harris Oval on Washington Blvd

Just a reminder: if anyone wishes to come down and try some new toys, or show off their own for that matter, Try-A-Bike is coming up this Sunday.

I'll be bringing a couple of interesting things...a MetaBike set up for light touring/randonneuring, a P-38, and a Cruzbike Sofrider (front-wheel-drive, moving-bottom-bracket recumbent) from my collection, as well as a few bikes on loan from RBR in State College. (Note that I can probably arrange sales of any of the RBR bikes if one strikes your fancy...means one less thing to haul back later.)

Other highlights will include folks from a local unicycle club bringing down their wares, both novice-friendly and, uh, less so (the 36" wheel, and the 5' tall giraffe, sound terrifying!); some cargo bikes; and whatever other neat stuff turns up. There should also be a demo PAT bus rack, if anyone wishes to try their bikes on such a rack without the time pressure of a real bus trying to go somewhere in a hurry.

Unfortunately I am out of town this weekend.  I ride an Actionbent Jetstream (short wheelbase...underseat steering)  but I am curious about FWDs....is there any way I could try out the Cruzbike some other time?        thanks    Ron Martin   Squirrel Hill

Of course! As a matter of fact, I'm in the preliminary stages of becoming a Cruzbike dealer, so I could be of assistance if you wish to eventually purchase one.

I'm a bit  busy for the next few weeks, but would be happy to get together sometime thereafter.
