Bike-PGH Bikefest

The local advocacy organization Bike-PGH is running their annual BikeFest this year from August 6-15th. Might be a good time to put together a 'bent test ride afternoon, where we get together with our sundry spare bikes and let people take 'em for a spin.

Good idea. I'll put it on the calendar and get out a message to all. Do you have any idea about legalities and waivers for this kind of thing? Venture Outdoors has one. Can we dovetail with them to spare us the trouble? Anyone with any ideas please respond.

i could easily run it as a Wheelmen ride, so as to make use of the club's insurance.

All we'll need to do will be to post it on the Wheelmen ride calendar, and make sure that we have a waiver/sign-up sheet at the event.

So, once we pick a date and location, I'll take care of getting it on the WPW calendar.

That's great! Let's find out what other events are scheduled and pick a day when there isn't conflict or, one the other hand, maybe we want to work with another event as an added attraction.

Sounds good. The dates have only just been announced, and the Web site has not yet been updated from last year, so we may need to wait a bit to see what shakes out.
