Pledge Drive for Pittsburgh Montessori

Dear Pittsburgh Montessori families and friends,
As we get ready to welcome in 2010, I would like to recognize the
achievements made in 2009. As parents of stu-dents at Pittsburgh
Montessori, 2009 provided us with a year filled with great
accomplishments. Most importantly we recognized a significant
improvement in our student’s achievement test scores and under
Principal Wallace’s leadership we have seen a transformation in the
school environment, signaling to us that the principals defined by
Maria Montessori are working every day, bringing the beauty of
learning into each classroom.
This year we also saw the establishment of a new parent-teacher-
student organization. Today Pittsburgh Montessori is working to fully
establish ourselves as a non-profit organization – the Parent Teacher
Student Association (PTSA) which works to create opportunities for
collaboration with parents, teachers, students and the community in an
ef-fort to benefit the students of Pittsburgh Montessori. Specifically
the PTSA works to ensure that the resources are in place so that all
PM students are provided with relevant education experiences that
foster a true love of learning.
By supporting this year’s PTSA Pledge Drive, your child/children
benefit in the following ways:
• Purchasing much-needed Montessori materials and supplies for our
fifteen classrooms.
• Funding the annual Linsly Outdoor Center encounter, a team building
and community experience for all 4th-8th grade students as well as a
series of additional fieldtrips for our younger students.
• Supporting School Events such as New Parent & Welcome Back Picnics,
Annual Harvest & Heritage Din-ners, Open House, Promotion Ceremony and
other family nights.
• Supporting our teachers that on countless occasions give out of
their pockets to ensure that our students have any and all Montessori
classroom supplies that are needed.
The PTSA Pledge Drive is the most simple and direct opportunity for
you to help make a difference in your stu-dent’s school experience.
Our fundraising goal for the pledge drive is $5,000 this year and
almost half of this year’s overall goal. We need your help to meet
this challenge! No gift is too small or too large and all gifts tell
our teachers and our school’s leadership that the PM parents are
committed to ensuring the success of our school and our students!
The PTSA is making donating easier than ever before. This year you can
donate through the following ways:
• Mailing the self addressed reply envelope to the school.
• Dropping off the reply envelope in the PTO lockbox outside the
school office.
• Making payment via PayPal website. Instructions:
1) go to www.paypal.com
2) click “Send Money” tab
3) complete email to: pittsburgh...@gmail.com and your email,
then “Continue”
4) complete payment method using MC, Visa AMEX, Discover or bank
account 5) send/confirm your secure payment!
• Make recurring payments with PayPal or via cash or check. If making
recurring payments, please fill out the top portion of the reply
envelope so we can have a record of your donation. Checks/money orders
can be made out to Pittsburgh Montessori PTO.
